Alex Waterhouse

Alex grew up spending time on Tasmania’s East Coast with his family each year, experiences that fostered an early appreciation for coastal environments. He went on to study Ocean Engineering at the Australian Maritime College in Tasmania, where an initially practical choice developed into a strong professional interest in coastal processes and extreme events.

His work spans coastal processes modelling, metocean analysis, environmental studies, and coastal engineering. Alongside technical analysis, Alex has a track record of managing multidisciplinary coastal projects, coordinating inputs across engineering, environmental, and stakeholder considerations to deliver integrated outcomes. He is drawn to complex problems and enjoys developing clear, well-founded solutions that balance technical rigour with practical constraints.

Alex is committed to delivering high-quality, client-focused work and keeps project objectives at the centre of his approach. He believes the best outcomes come from understanding what a client genuinely needs, while also considering the broader operational, environmental, and community context of a project. His interest in technical systems and modern data analysis supports efficient workflows and reliable project delivery.
