COASTAL ENGINEER, PERTH WA
When your team’s as passionate about the coast as they are about engineering, the work speaks for itself.
From artificial surfing reefs to foreshore restoration along the Swan River, we design and deliver projects that protect, enhance, and celebrate Australia’s coastline. And in this role, you’ll be involved in every stage, from concept and modelling to site inspections and construction phase support, working alongside experienced engineers who value your input and ideas.
You will be based in South Perth, working closely with our other offices along the East Coast in Newcastle, Gold Coast, and Brisbane. Our teams collaborate across locations, sharing expertise on projects, and ideas.
You’ll have the opportunity to build your technical skills while contributing to unique, high-impact work that makes a visible difference to coastal communities.
What you’ll do:
Assist in the design of coastal structures and sand management projects, and development of coastal management strategies
Help analyse coastal processes using tools like GIS, Python, MATLAB, and numerical modelling.
Lead the delivery of small and medium projects, and contribute to larger, more complex ones.
Join experienced engineers on site for inspections, asset assessments, and construction phase support.
What we’re looking for:
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Coastal, Civil, or related Engineering.
1–3 years’ experience in a coastal or relevant related engineering consultancy (e.g. civil, structural or geotechnical).
Understanding of coastal processes, sediment transport, and shoreline dynamics.
Problem-solving mindset with commitment to sustainable outcomes for our coast and it’s communities.
Bonus skills in ocean science, computer science, GIS, programming, numerical modelling or project management.
What you’ll get:
A team that’s just as happy talking about the surf as they are about project specs, because we genuinely live and work in the environments we’re protecting.
Paid professional memberships, training budgets, and study support, we invest in your development so you’re ready for bigger responsibilities sooner.
Site work along some of Australia’s most unique and beautiful coastlines, seeing first hand the places your designs will protect.
A mentor who’ll involve you in real decisions and guide your career path, not just tick the box for “training.”
If you’re early in your career and want to work on projects that matter, in a role where you’ll be hands-on from start to finish. We’d love to hear from you.
