HEIKO LOEHR
Heiko grew up in rural Germany, where he spent his time in the outdoors or working as a mechanic at the local motorcycle shop. It was a trip around Australia though that cemented his love for the ocean. Following a Civil Engineering and Oceanography degree in Germany, Heiko went on to develop marine sensors in New Zealand, before returning to Europe to pursue his Masters in Coastal Engineering at the University of Southampton.
His career has since seen him follow his passions for the environment, the ocean, and for learning. He’s always on the look-out for opportunities to top up his robust skill set in data generation through to modern engineering, whether that be through formal education or novel workplace challenges.
It is this rich technical expertise, stellar international reputation, and enthusiastic hands-on attitude that saw him teaming up with Evan. Heiko loves combining theory, practical understanding and computer science to tackle even the most complex technical challenges.
