Ian Teakle
Ian has over three decades of experience in coastal engineering and coastal management, with a career spanning strategic coastal studies, detailed design, and delivery of major coastal projects. He has worked extensively on shoreline management planning, coastal hazard and risk assessments, beach nourishment programs, and the assessment and design of coastal protection structures.
Ian has played a lead technical role on many large-scale coastal projects across Australia, particularly along the east coast, supporting government agencies and local councils with long-term planning, approvals, and implementation of coastal management responses. His experience covers both open-coast and estuarine environments, and includes projects influenced by erosion, flooding, and coastal change.
With a background that combines technical leadership and practical project delivery, Ian brings deep institutional knowledge to the team and continues to contribute to the successful delivery of complex coastal engineering projects.
