Infrastructure & Asset Risk Projects
Bluecoast were engaged to undertake a Disaster Risk Assessment (DRA) as well as a Climate Risk and Vulnerability Assessment (CRVA) for the project. These assessments aimed at providing a basis for integrating disaster risk into the design and implementation of the port upgrade project. They form part of the first phase of the feasibility study.
Our engineers undertook metocean monitoring as well as topographic and bathymetric surveys to inform local metocean climate assessments. The data was also used to validate hindcast wave and current numerical models and assisted to calibrate a cyclone model. The work also involved stakeholder engagement with both government dignitaries as well as local port workers in order to inform the basis of the assessments.
