Matthew Barnes
Matthew’s interest in coastal engineering stems from a fascination with how coastlines evolve and respond to natural forces. With a background in coastal and ocean engineering, his work has focused on understanding coastal processes and translating this knowledge into studies that support the long-term management of coastal environments.
Throughout his career, Matt has been involved in a variety of coastal projects, including coastal hazard and shoreline management studies, numerical modelling, and the interpretation of coastal monitoring data. He enjoys working at the intersection of data, modelling, and real-world coastal behaviour, where technical analysis can directly inform practical planning and management decisions.
Matthew’s experience spans a range of coastal settings and project stages, and his work contributes to studies that help councils and government agencies better understand and respond to coastal change.
